LOUDER, a full-service retail platform founded by a young team from the MTR Corporation, collaborated with Star Artisans Unlimited, a social enterprise that promotes the artistic development of young people with intellectual disabilities, to launch the "Penguin Protection Series" cultural and creative products last year. The two parties have recently joined hands again, hoping to showcase social diversity and inclusion through artistic creation. From now until June 22, a ten-day "Dreams without Barriers, Loud Support for Inclusion" Star Art Unlimited Art Exhibition will be held at the LOUDER Weifang branch. The exhibition includes the giant painting "Antarctic Penguin Marathon" which is being exhibited for the first time, as well as 19 paintings created by young artists from Star Artisans Unlimited, allowing them to showcase their talents through art in the city, while also allowing the public to feel their unlimited potential and persistence.
Five young artists unleash their potential to create the "Antarctic Penguin Marathon" to promote environmental conservation
The exhibition features a large painting titled "Antarctic Penguin Marathon" which was created by five young artists and eleven other members of Star Artisans Unlimited and took several months to complete. The paintings were completed using acrylic paint, oil-based pens, and collage techniques, delicately depicting the world of glaciers and penguins in their minds. The paintings are full of childlike innocence and imagination. Through sincere brushstrokes, the observation and love of penguins are transformed into colorful pictures, which not only show their unique artistic perspective, but also hope to awaken the public's attention to global warming and melting glaciers. At the same time, let the public see the efforts and potential of this group of young creators.
The focus work "Antarctic Penguin Marathon" is of special significance. It not only demonstrates the creative spirit of unity and cooperation, but also symbolizes their journey of facing challenges and pursuing dreams together. There are also "Protecting Penguins" series of cultural and creative products on site, including penguin magnetic stickers, diatom mud absorbent quick-drying table/floor mats, and multi-purpose environmentally friendly leather document bags, to promote respect and protection of the natural environment and work together to "protect penguins." While appreciating the paintings, everyone can support the creative career of the young people of Xingjiang with their own actions.
"Business x Social Enterprise" join hands to promote artistic inclusion
LOUDER has been promoting local original brands and creative culture, and is committed to supporting local design and enthusiastic entrepreneurs, promoting the development of Hong Kong's creative industry and "Make Hong Kong Brands LOUDER". At the same time, it also hopes to practice the concept of diversity and inclusion through art and all sectors of society. LOUDER Sales and Marketing Manager Kwan Cheung said: "We are very pleased to be able to cooperate with Star Artisans Unlimited again to exhibit the painstaking work "Antarctic Penguin Marathon" and other 19 paintings by Star Artisans young artists, so that the public can appreciate and feel their delicate inner world and appreciate their unrestrained creativity. Different from ordinary art exhibitions, this time we brought the works to the LOUDER store. Everyone can enjoy the exhibition while shopping, so as to understand the emotions expressed by Star Artisans artists through their works." LOUDER Business Development and Operations Manager Cherry Cheng mentioned that in addition to promoting local design, the brand also pays attention to sustainable development: "Since its establishment in 2022, LOUDER has introduced nearly 300 local emerging brands and more than a thousand local design boutiques and delicacies. This cooperation with Star Artisans Unlimited is one of its important projects, using art as a bridge to promote local creativity, social inclusion and environmental awareness."
The founder of StarCrafts Unlimited founded a social enterprise for his daughter to allow young artists to unleash their creative talents
StarCrafts Unlimited was founded by Andy Zheng and Jade Zeng in 2019, inspired by their mentally retarded daughter Qingqing. During Qingqing's growth process, they realized the challenges faced by mentally retarded youth, including misunderstandings from the outside world, lack of creative space, and lack of self-confidence. Therefore, they founded the social enterprise Star Craftsmen Unlimited, hoping to use art as a medium to help them discover their potential and build confidence. Star Artisans Unlimited not only provides art training, but also turns students' works into merchandise for sale, creating job opportunities and income while boosting their self-confidence. It also organizes art interest classes, parent-child workshops, art exhibitions, etc. to help them broaden their horizons and integrate into society.
Andy, founder of Star Artisan Unlimited, said: “Even if people with intellectual disabilities have artistic talents, it is difficult for them to be seen, let alone develop into a career in the long run. We thank the LOUDER team for their passion and diversity in identifying local brands. Among the numerous brands, we saw the potential and uniqueness of the young artists of Star Artisan Unlimited and gave them an opportunity to showcase their talents, allowing them to make another attempt on the road of art.”
Nineteen wonderful paintings with three major themes will be exhibited at the same venue. Let's walk into the creative world of young artists together
In addition to the highlight work "Antarctic Penguin Marathon", 19 highly infectious paintings created by young artists from Star Artisans Unlimited are also on display. The three major themes include "Brilliant Hong Kong", "When Artists Meet Gardens" and "Abstract Paintings". Each work shows the creator's observation and imagination of life, presenting the world in their eyes through rich colors and composition. Whether it is the familiar city scenery or the abstract inner emotions, they are all full of personal style.
1. "Brilliant Hong Kong" - Vitality and tranquility
The "Brilliant Hong Kong" series of works is inspired by the painter Van Gogh's classic work "Starry Night". Through the contrast of bright lights and colors, it depicts the unique atmosphere of Hong Kong's night scene intertwined with vitality and tranquility. The work not only showcases the charm of light and shadow of the city, but also incorporates the creator’s personal emotional projection, inviting the audience to feel the dynamic aesthetics and humanistic atmosphere of Hong Kong. Another theme in the series is inspired by the collective memory of Hong Kong people - the "Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower". The artist reinterprets this landmark with colorful colors and delicate brushstrokes, leading the audience on a childlike visual journey through an emotional perspective full of expectation and imagination.
2. When the Artist Meets the Garden - Harmonious Resonance between Nature and Art
The "When Artists Meet Gardens" series leads the audience into the embrace of nature, away from the busy city and into a quiet green world. The artist delicately depicts the moment when flowers bloom with colorful colors, conveying joyful emotions and rich creativity. These works not only bring visual healing, but are more like a spiritual journey, leading the audience to feel the pure and harmonious resonance between nature and art.
3. Abstract Painting - The Wild Art of Fauvism
The "Abstract Painting" series combines the Fauvist style, using unrestrained brushstrokes and highly saturated colors to create almost abstract images. The pictures are exaggerated and freely deformed, showing the artist's unique interpretation of emotion and form, full of primitive tension and visual impact.
